How we use personal data, why, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Who we are
Review Remover ("we", "us") runs thereviewremover.com and is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy through our contact page.
What we collect
- Review check form: your name, email address, phone number, business name, the link to your Google profile, how many reviews and why, and anything you choose to tell us.
- Technical data sent with the form: your IP address, browser type, the page you sent it from and how long the form took, which we use to spot automated spam.
- Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies: pages visited, device type, approximate location and how you arrived, through Google Analytics.
- Emails you send us and our replies.

We never sell your data, never use it to write or post reviews, and never contact the people who wrote reviews about you using data you give us.
Who we share it with
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and delivers our email.
- Google, when we file a report about a review on your behalf, and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
- A solicitor, only if you ask us to refer a defamation case.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
Review check enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted within 24 months. Records of work and invoices are kept for six years to meet accounting rules. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, ask for it to be moved, and withdraw consent at any time. Send your request through our contact page. We reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
