Editorial policy
How we research, write, check and correct our guides to Google reviews.
Sources we use
We build every guide on primary sources, in this order:
- Google's own help centre and policies, including the Maps user contributed content policy and the Business Profile help pages. When we give menu labels or steps, they come from Google's pages at the date shown on the guide.
- UK legislation on legislation.gov.uk, such as the Defamation Act 2013 and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
- Regulators and government, such as the Competition and Markets Authority on gov.uk.
- Reputable reporting only where no primary source exists, and we say so.
Each guide lists its sources at the end with direct links.
How we check
Every guide shows the date it was last checked against Google's policies and the date it was last updated. We re-check a guide when Google changes a policy or a process, when the law changes, or at least every six months.
We do not invent statistics, case studies or testimonials. Examples of reviews on this site are illustrations, written to show a type of review, and are labelled as examples.
Independence
Review Remover is not affiliated with Google. Nobody pays us to mention a product or service in our guides and we do not use affiliate links. Our guides do mention our own removal service, and we are clear about it when we do.

Corrections
If you think something on this site is wrong or out of date, send it through our contact page, with the page and what needs changing. We check every report and correct confirmed errors promptly, updating the date on the guide.
